JAMMU, July 23: National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD) here today organised a seminar for its students.
The event began with the traditional lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries followed by a presentation on NIFD by Yashodhan Thakur.
Vannita Thakur, NIFD Chairperson talked about her vision and long journey of NIFD since its establishment in the year 1997.

The entire session was focussed on different aspects like personality grooming, language training, goal setting, career in fashion and interior design and the benefits of these courses in the long run.
Vasudha Malhotra, a fashion and accessory designer who was the guest in the seminar briefed the students about upcoming specialised courses in fashion design like visual merchandising, accessory design and fashion styling which NIFD is going to start soon.
Another guest Payal Saraf, interior designer and owner of ‘Samaya’—a Delhi based start-up emphasised on how auto CAD is a very important aspect of interior design.
She promised internships and jobs to deserving pass out designers of NIFD.
Aparajita Sharma, personality grooming instructor and former Miss India runner-up also graced the occasion.
Internationally acclaimed motivational speaker, Pallab Bose delivered a lecture on worth of fashion design as an innovative and profitable course today.
