JAMMU, July 23: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today accused NC, Congress, PDP and other Kashmir Centric parties for rampant corruption in the State.
While addressing a gathering organised in Ward 43, Nanak Nagar for the membership drive, he said the policies of these parties have led to rising corruption in the State and these parties are responsible for the problems of the people in the State.
Commenting on the statement of Governor, Satya Pal Malik, he said Governor himself has admitted that he should not have given the statement being a Constitutionally appointed person of the State but, being an administrator of the State these days his comments should be taken as an alarm.
He said the properties of the questionable politicians should be disclosed after getting the same investigated from the agencies. He said all such politicians should be booked under relevant laws. ‘He stressed for mechanism to be adopted in the State to check the properties of the bureaucrats’ as well who also hold shares in many leading businesses of the State and country.
Kavinder in reference to current statement of American President, Donald Trump, wherein he had said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has also requested for playing the role of mediator for Kashmir problem, said “Kashmir issue is there but we want to talk on illegally occupied Kashmir by Pakistan’’. “We want that part of Kashmir back from Pakistan”, Kavinder added. “If Pakistan is ready to hold talks on whole of Kashmir and ready to handover possession of other part of Kashmir back, we should go ahead with the talks’’, he said.
He further said that the NC and PDP which manage to secure 10% of the votes in Jammu and Kashmir, term itself as the representatives of the whole of the Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion membership drive was launched in the area. Prominent among those who took part in the membership drive were, Councillor Surjit Choudhary, Rekha Mahajan, Rekha Chouhan, Pooja Chouhan among other booth, Mandal and District workers.
