Man drowns; 2 hurt in road mishap

UDHAMPUR, July 26: A man drowned today while crossing the Birma River near Birma Bridge while two persons were injured in a road mishap at Seer near Jaganoo.
According to a police official, the deceased has been identified as Madan Lal (34) son of Billa Ram, who lived near Birma Bridge. He said while crossing the river, Madan Lal washed away in the river and his body was fished out after a one-hour long search operation.
The dead body has been shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem while Udhampur police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, the official said that a mini-bus bearing registration number JK14D-3987, which was on its way from Udhampur to Jaganoo met with an mishap at Seer near Jaganoo. In the mishap, two persons were injured. They were identified as Tarun Sharma (12) son of Radhe Sham of Seer Jaganoo and Gurmeet (11) son of Gyan Chand of Seer Jaganoo. Both the injured were shifted to DH Udhampur for treatment.
