RAJOURI, July 26: The police seized two trucks loaded with 40 bovine animals (7 dead), near Bhamla in Sunderbani area during early hours today.
Official sources said that a police naka party intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers, JK02AC/ 2576 and JK02AC/8569, coming from Akhnoor side and moving towards Rajouri. The drivers of the trucks escaped from the spot afger parking vehicles at some distance.
The police claimed to have recovered 40 bovine animals loaded in the truck badly. Sven cattle were found dead inside. The cattle were being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The vehicles were seized and cattle rescued. The dead cattle were later buried in the nearby area. The police registered a case in this connection.
