Centre trying to create fear among people in J&K: Javed

RAJOURI, July 27: Former legislator and senior NC leader Javed Rana has alleged that Centre was trying to create fear among the people of J&K by deploying more and moré companies of security forces in the State.
While addressing party cadre at Sundarbani today, Rana, expressed a deep concern over the intensions of Centre to create a non-conducive situation that can hamper the process of Assembly elections in the state. He pointed out that sudden deployment of large number of para-military forces in Kashmir is perceived as a fearsome threat by people. “Rumors about scraping of Articles 370 / 35A are erupting everywhere which in turn has ignited an atmosphere of fear, frustration and uncertainty”, he said.
“Since the time, the State Assembly got dissolved, the State has been burning under acute political crisis and Centre has also not shown any will and interest to restore a democratic set-up in the state. It has almost been more than a year now and no announcement has been made for conducting Assembly elections in the state”, he asserted.
“If the Panchayat and Lok Sabha elections can be held peacefully, what is the problem with Assembly elections”, he asked.
He said Centre was deliberately postponing the elections, so that they can succeed in their geo-political vested interested. The stunning performance of Jammu Kashmir National Conference party in 2019 Lok Sabha elections had given a clear warning signal to opponents.
“It appears that the present political forces are trying to propagate their politics on fear in Kashmir. Modi’s frequently repeated promise to make Kashmir safe again serves as a paradigmatic example of the politicization of fear”, he maintained.
Taking a jibe at BJP, Rana said the Centre boosts of congenial atmosphere in the Valley but then why is it hesitating to give a positive nod for holding Assembly elections in state.
