UDHAMPUR, July 27: Up in arms against shortage of teachers, the students of Government Higher Secondary School Pancheri today boycotted their classes and took out a protest rally.
The protesting students raised slogans in support of their demand of deployment of adequate teaching staff in the school.
Local villagers of Pancheri, led by NC block president Jaswant Singh also participated in the students protest. They lamented that due to the shortage of staff in the school, the students were facing manifold problems to get their queries solved pertaining to their subjects.
Further, they alleged, there is no proper sitting arrangement in the school where about 400 students are enrolled, including 96 in class 9th, 105 in class 10th, 100 in class 11th and 100 in class 12th.
GHSS Pancheri was established in 1985 and even after more than three decades, the students are facing lack of infrastructure and teaching staff. Only four Lecturers are running this Higher Secondary School, which has shortage of 7 Lecturer (Chemistry, Biology, Economies, History), three Master, 10 class IV employees and one librarian.
