Ladakh MP calls on Amit Shah, demands transfer of Ladakhi employees from Valley

LEH, July 30: Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and submitted a letter requesting him to transfer the employees hailing from Leh and Kargil serving in the Valley.
The MP letter read that keeping in view, the forecast of deteriorating situation in Kashmir valley and issue of law & order for long period as mentioned in an RPF communication, this is to acknowledge that there are hundreds of Government employees hailing from both Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh Division presently posted in Kashmir valley and serving in Police Department as well as Civil Services.
“I am here, in this connection, to request you to kindly transfer all the employees to their native places of Ladakh region immediately to avoid any mishappen to the innocent and peace loving people of Ladakh region, who always stand with nationalist forces,” the MP said in the letter.
The MP further requested the Union Home Minister to take all the necessary measures in favour of Ladakh region as the developmental activities of Ladakh region should not be hampered and the peace loving people of Ladakh region should not be suffered for no reason.
Expressing gratitude to Modi Government for notifying Ladakh as divisional status with creation of the posts for Divisional Commissioner and Inspector General of Police, Namgyal said that even after lapse of six months people of Ladakh are still waiting for posting of the IG Police and making fulfillment of the police range of Ladakh Division by transferring all the police personals hailing from Ladakh presently posted in Kashmir valley.
Namgyal also demanded that services of local transporters and produce from Ladakhis be procured by the defence forces. He said after the Kargil operation, locals were being hired as porters but now the Army has capped the recruitment on the basis of age. He also demanded that the contribution of Tashi be recognized.
