JAMMU, July 30: Gangyal police arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and SP South Vinay Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 5.5 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohi-Din of Batergam District Kupwara.
A case under FIR Number 80/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
