JAMMU, July 31: Accusing BJP of failure to ensure safety of women, Congress held a strong candle light protest, late last evening in Jammu over the Unnao rape case involving a BJP MLA, in which a murderous incident took place killing two key witnesses, besides rape victim being in critically injured condition.
Led by state Mahila wing president, Indu Pawar, Mahila Congress leaders and activists in large number held a strong protest, carrying burning candles in hands, over the failure of BJP Govt to ensure the safety and security of the women in the country. They raised slogans against the BJP and Yogi Govt for failing to protect the women. The protestors blamed BJP of making false claims and utter failure to secure the women folk in the country.
The Unnao rape case is clear example of the failure of BJP Govt to deal with the situation. Even the rape victim involving BJP MLA is not safe, as two key witnesses have been eliminated and victim is in critical condition. This shows how callous and casually the Govt of UP led by Yogi Aditya Nath has taken the crimes against women. The insecurity of BJP leadership in the Country has exposed the hollow slogans and commitments of BJP to ensure the safety and security of women in the Country, after coming to power at the Centre and most of the states, Indu Pawar said.
Other leaders who joined the protest include Former minister vice president Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Dr R K Khajuria, Dwarka Choudhary, Gorav Chopra , Rajinder Singh, NSUI president Raqiq Khan, Suresh Dogra, Narinder Sharma, Pranav Shagotra, Manu Jamwal, Rajiv Saraf, Rajveer Singh, Iqbal Dar, Varun Mangotra, Rajni Bala, Vandana Sharma, Suman Choudhary Corporators Bhanu Mahajan, Ritu Choudhary, Inderjit Kour, Reeta Khajuria, Suman Sharma, Menakshi, Darshana Devi, Sunita Devi, Saroj Sharma, Satvir Kour, Soma Devi, Gurmeet Kour, Gurbachan Kour and others.
