KATHUA, July 31: Women Cell Kathua has registered a case against three youth under FIR Number 376 under Section 109/IT Act and POCSO for outraging the modesty of a minor girl at a restaurant in Chann Arorian over 15 days back.
The SSP Kathua, Sridhar Patil said that the FIR has been lodged against the youth in Women Cell Kathua and police is investigating the matter.
As per the statement of the girl she visited along with her friend who too was a girl to a local restaurant and her friend told her to stay outside the restaurant as she had to meet some one. In the meantime a youth came who threatened her and took her to a room in the restaurant and outraged her modesty forcibly. She said he warned her not to narrate the matter to any one as he will make the video viral and tarnish her image.
The girl narrated the story to her family members after some days and they went to Hiranagar Police Station to lodge the complaint but the police refused to the lodge FIR saying it is an old case. The girl and her mother said that later they went to Hiranagar Court and filed an application demanding probe into the matter and registration of FIR against the culprits. The court issued directives to police and on the basis of same a FIR has been registered against the culprits in Women Cell.
The SSP Kathua said that the police is investigating the matter and more heads will roll. He said police will take strict action under law in the matter.
