3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis

JAMMU, July 31: Gandhi Nagar, Nowabad and Batote Police arrested three drug peddlers along with heroin and cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Gurnam Singh laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AT-6824.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin and Rs 90,000 cash from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested driver has been identified as Balvinder Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of Bandrali Chak, at present Old Satwari, Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 204/19 under section 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation initiated.
In another similar case, a team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Bimal Indu laid a naka near Dogra Chowk and intercepted an Alto car.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams of heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Puneet, a resident of Janipur.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Batote Police Station led by SHO Inspector Niaz-ul-Hassan under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma during patrolling near Bhaderwah more on Batote-Doda road arrested a drug peddler along with 640 grams of cannabis.
The accused has been identified as Alaf Din, son of Habibullah of Rakhjorgh, Batote, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 69/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started to ascertain the source and other persons involved in smuggling of contraband.
