Bone, Joint Week celebrations underway in GMC Kathua

KATHUA, Aug 3: The seven days Bone and Joint Week which started on August 1 is underway here in the Department of Orthopedics , GMC, Kathua. It will culminate on August 7.
The bone and Joint week is held annually under the aegis of Indian Orthopedic Association with focus on activities amongst masses about prevention, management and treatment of various orthopedic disorders.
In this context a free BMD camp was held in the OPD of Orthopedics Department of GMC Kathua on August 1. The Bone and Joint Day is being celebrated with different themes globally. Department of Orthopedic Government Medical College Kathua in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Ortho Association (JKOA) is celebrating the Bone and Joint Day weeklong set of activities as per the nationwide theme of Indian Orthopedic Association of healthy aging with strong bones. Scores of activities were conducted during the celebrations.
A CME was held on August 2 which was inaugurated by Dr Shashi Sudhan, Principal and Chief patron of GMC Kathua. In his welcome address , Dr Sudesh Sharma , Prof and HoD highlighted this year’s theme.
Among other speakers included Dr Rishabh Gupta, Assistant Professor, Dr Vivek Sharma, Assistant Professor. The proceedings were conducted by Dr Natasha Sawhney, Assistant Professor and Dr Sumit Pal Singh senior resident. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Bishan Singh.
