Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal sends memo of demands to HP CM

JAMMU, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal has sent a memorandum of demands regarding the holy Mani Mahesh Yatra through e-mail to Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh (HP).
In the memorandum, secretary general of the Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal, Jagdish Anjaana raised different issues and the problems faced by the pilgrims regarding temporary shelter, toilets in different halt stations and lack of toilets near holy Kailash lake.
Arrangements of electricity, road connectivity, medical facility and security issue of the pilgrims were also highlighted in the memorandum. Besides this, a complete ban on use of egg and chicken flesh from Khadamukh area to holy lake was also demanded.
It was also suggested in the memorandum that like Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, the holy town of Bharmour in Himachal Pradesh may also be declared a holy ‘Dharam Nagri’ where the selling and eating of the chicken and eggs should be banned totally as it hurts the sentiments of the pilgrims very badly.
Earlier, all these issues and demands were discussed in a meeting of the J&K Mani Mahesh Yatra Dal held here today under the presidentship of Mahant Panna Lal Bharti and secretary general, Jagdish Anjaana.
