NEW DELHI, Aug 4: Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations have strongly condemned the statement of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad who has held former Governor of State, Jagmohan responsible for the mass exodus of the Pandits in 1989-90.
While countering Azad and terming his statement misleading and baseless the KP organisations gave a clean chit to former Governor saying he is a patriot by core and a true nationalist leader who during his tenure as Governor twice worked day and night for betterment of the people of the State and its development.
All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), which held an emergency meeting at New Delhi today under the chairmanship of its vice president, Vijay Kashkari while ridiculing the statement of Azad who held former Governor Jagmohan responsible for the exodus of minority Hindus from Kashmir in 1989-90 said this way former CM has completely exonerating those who actually forced minority Hindus to leave the Valley.
The AIKS said this theory, propounded by the separatist, Jihadis and their sponsors within and outside Kashmir, as part of their well-thought disinformation campaign was to bail out Kashmiri Jihadis and their camp followers who actually threw Pandits out of Valley and Azad was toeing their line which no nationalist Indian will accept.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), president Kundan Kashmiri while expressing his surprise and dismay over the statement of Azad said that Pandits don’t expect such a statement from Azad. He said the statement has hurt the sentiments of Kashmiri Hindus as entire world knows who forced them to leave the Valley.
Kashmiri said by such a statement Azad has put a question mark on the Congress party and Kashmiri Pandits have lost all faith in the party which just for Muslim appeasement is ganging up against a community who has been thrown out of valley due to its wrong policies.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in its meeting here, today while taking serious exception to Azad’s statement termed it totally false, baseless, mischievous and anti national. The meeting, which was chaired by ASKPC president, Advocate Ravinder Raina and also addressed by its general secretary, Dr T K Bhat said it is totally unfortunate that a man who held important portfolios in Union Government and was CM of the State has also come into his true colours by giving clean chit to Jahadis –the marauders of humanity.
The ASKPC demanded unconditional apology from Azad and also from Rahul Gandhi, the former president of the Party.
Sampooran Kashmir Sangthan (SKS) chairman, Anoop Kaul, its president, Rakesh Kaul and general secretary, Bharat Kachroo while expressing their dismay and concern over the statement of Azad said that entire world knows that the Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave the Valley by terrorists and separatists on the behest of Islamic forces and Pakistan. In a statement issued here, today they said that Jagmohan had noting to do with the exodus of Pandits as mass migration has taken place before he took over as Governor of the State.
They demanded an unconditional apology from Azad and Congress party for the statement which has hurt the sentiments of Pandits.
