Director ERA takes stock of restoration works

JAMMU, Mar 5: Director Central (DC), J&K, ERA, Vinod Sharma, today visited the site of ongoing sewer work at Ranbir Canal and issued directions to complete the work in stipulated time frame.
On reaching there, DC was told by the project officers that about 800 hectares area is being covered under sewerage network from Bakshi Nagar to Paloura for which 28000 house connections will be provided to the households free of cost. About 8000 houses will be connected with the sewerage system till December 2013.
It was also informed to Sharma that the main hurdle of crossing the Ranbir canal for laying of main trunk sewer of 1400 mm dia has been completed and restoration works are in progress round the clock.  The works for laying of 900 mm dia sewer main near RRL office related to sewerage package WW/01 covering the area of Bakshi Nagar, Dogra Mohalla and Gurah Bakshi Nagar will be completed by 15th March 2013 and after which individual house connection with the laid sewerage network will be started on war footing.
JG Mengi, Project Manager, Sanjeev Chadha, Deputy Project Manager, T R Sharma, APM of ERA and R N Verma, team leader of DSC and Surinder Singh, SSE of DSC Jammu, were present at the time of inspection.
Understanding the importance of time bound completion of projects undertaken by ERA, DC assured that they are committed to complete all the projects in stipulated time frame.
