Revocation of Article 370: Haryana to change routes of buses reaching Jammu

AMBALA, Aug 6:
In view of the Central government decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the Haryana government on Tuesday took the decision to change the routes of Haryana Roadways buses reaching Jammu.
All the buses emanating from Delhi and other stations to reach Jammu would be terminated at Pathankot and would return from there, a state government Spokesperson said.
Besides, Haryana Roadways buses coming from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and other stations would also terminate at Pathankot.
The Spokesperson further said that the decision was taken from security point of view.
He stated that a general alert had been sounded in the state and the police as well as roadways department were conducting intensive inspection in the buses. No bus was allowed to proceed on its route without inspection.
Both the departments were engaged in searching the luggage being carried by the passengers. No bus was cleared to proceed further without getting it searched by the inspecting staff.
Although the Jammu-bound passengers may be put in inconvenience with the decision but it was of smaller period and situation would improve with passage of time when the buses would start plying normally, he added.
Ambala Cantt Bus Stand Incharge Ram Kishan Sharma said that each bus was searched intensively and no bus was allowed to proceed on its route without getting the certificate. (UNI)
