JAMMU, Aug 7: The 22nd Annual NBT Publishing Course is being held at NBT premises at Institutional Area, Phase II, Vasant Kunj from tomorrow to September 4.
Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Principal DG (Training) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will inaugurate this training. Prof Govind Prasad Sharma, Chairman, National Book Trust, India will preside over the programme.
One of the senior most Information Professionals of the country, Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, chief guest on the occasion, is an Indian Information Service Officers holding the post of Principal Director General (Research and Training) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. He also holds the coveted post of Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, a premier organization in the field of Mass Media studies.
An officer of 1984 batch, Dhatwalia has held various important positions in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry especially in the Ministry of Home Affairs and also in the North East. He has organized several Media Conclaves for the Ministry and delivered talks on various aspects of Mass Communication throughout the country and abroad.
The Annual Book Publishing Course of National Book Trust, India is an attempt to train the beginners in the field of Book Publishing. This time about 40 participants from across the country aspiring to make a career in Book Publishing are participating in this course. There will be lectures on various aspects of Book Publishing to be delivered by eminent professionals in the field.
NBT has a plan to hold such training programmes this year at Allahabad, Aurangabad, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati and a few more places.
