Jammu, Aug 8: District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria today chaired a meeting to review works being executed under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Development Generation Scheme (MGNREGS) here today.
Additional District Development Arvind Kotwal, Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, District Panchayat Officer Piyush Dhotra, Executive Engineer, R. E. W Ashok Pangotra, Block Development Officers of Samba district besides other officials were present in the meeting.
DPO gave a detailed overview of functioning of Rural Development Department highlighting performances and allocation under various schemes including PMAY (G), MGNREGS, BADP, MPLADs/CDF. He informed that target of 5 lakh person days have been assigned and 3338 works shall be executed in all 9 blocks of the district. Besides, 95% of all the assets created till date have been geo-tagged and 124 works approved and technically sanctioned have been uploaded on SECURE (Software for Estimation Calculation using rural rates for employment ), 84% achievement have been attained in PMAY (G) scheme against target of 770 houses, added DPO.
DDC directed the concerned officers to chalk out a fixed timeline regarding completion of works under process and lay special focus on water conservation works including construction and renovation of ponds and traditional water resources. He asked the concerned Block Development Officer to immediately submit the Utilization Certificate (UCs) for the completed works.
DDC instructed Block Development Officer to complete all the F.T.Os (Fund Transfer Order) generation for both wage and material component at the earliest. He also asked for starting new works under MG-NREGS and provide employment to eligible unemployed.
