JAMMU, Aug 9: Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market, Jammu today said that traders of Jammu are standing shoulder to shoulder to strengthen the hands of the administration post revocation of Article 370 and 35A and trying their best to keep the ration supply smooth in the State.
Speaking in a meeting at Federation office today, president, Rattan Lal Gupta said that traders fraternity welcomes revocation of Article 370 and 35A and hopes that with J&K now becoming a Union Territory, toll tax on goods would also go thus fulfilling their long pending demand and providing level playing field viz a viz neighboring states.
Extending support to Central Government’s decision, Federation general secretary Deepak Gupta said that Ware House mandi was established six decades ago and since then till date this mandi has served the food needs of the State. During these six decades, there were natural disasters, sometimes the situation worsened and sometimes curfew-like situation occurred but despite that traders maintained the ration supply in whole state so that no
house feel shortage of food grains.
He said that apart from Jammu, rations are being supplied from this wholesale mandi to Rajouri, Poonch, Doda,
Kishtwar, Bhadarwah, Udhampur, Kashmir Valley and even Ladhakh and despite all the difficulties, ration supply is still going on.
Deepak Gupta appealed the masses not to get misled by the leaders so called savior of Article 370 and 35-A as the real beneficiaries of these articles are only few Political families, politicians and bureaucrats while common man of the State only suffer due to these articles.
Senior vice-president of the Federation Munish Mahajan, vice-president Abhimanyu Gupta, secretary Vishal Gupta, cashier and many senior members of the Federation were also present in the meeting.
