JAMMU, Aug 10: Natraj Natya Kunj here today staged multilingual play ‘Ripped’.
The play was based on the poem ‘Sabse Khatarnaak’ by revolutionary Punjabi poet Avtar Singh ‘Pash’ and it was scripted by Karan and directed by Abhishek Bharti.
A humanitarian and resolute reformer ‘Pash’ was a poet of conscience who fought for the rights of the credulous masses, articulating their pain in his poetry.
Director of the play Abhishek Bharti had delved deep into the profound depth of the poetry of Pash for this experimental and vivid dramatisation.
Designed by Aaditya Bharti, an alumnus of Department of Indian Theatre Punjab University Chandigarh, this one-hour stunning performance was based on the form of theatre of the oppressed.
The unvarnished candidness of Pash’s poetry, his passion, isolation or whimsical enthusiasm about life and society were interwoven between various scenes by script writer Karan.
Actors who performed in the play were Tejan Bharti, Arun Bral, Manpreet Kaur, Chanda Pandey, Ritik Mahajan, Daksh Sagoch, Shivam Chib, Vaibhav Sagoch and Pratham Sharma.
