UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: State president of All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS), Choudhary Manmohan Singh along with his team members visited Udhampur district, where he constituted district unit.
A meeting was held there under the chairmanship of Ch Manmohan Singh, which was attended by hundreds of Jat families residing in Udhampur, Chenani and Ram Nagar area. Manmohan Singh asked the people present to form an Ad-hoc committee, of their own local area. He asked them to choose representatives from among themselves, who will further represent their district in State Jat Maha Sabha meetings and dedicate their time and efforts to raise their issues with him so that he can raise these issues with authorities and get them resolved.
On the advice of the State president, Jat community members present there elected Ch Manohar Singh as Udhampur district president of Jat maha Sabha, Amit Choudhary as vice president, Ch Mangal Singh as general secretary, Satvir Choudhary as advisor and Ch Mohinder Singh as prop secretary. The Ad-hoc committee decided that next month a meeting will be held by them at Chenani inviting Ch Manmohan Singh and his team to preside over to which he agreed.
Later, interacting with the State president, Jat families complained that there are no Public Health Centers in their areas. They also complained that hardly any job was given to local youth during the Gandola Construction project.
Ch Manmohan Singh asked the committee to formulate a list of such issues in detail and provide him with this list at their coming meeting. He said that as Biradari representative of the State, he thinks that they should focus on their youth and educate them so that they can get the benefit of reservation under OBC category. He appealed the youth of the community to keep themselves away from drugs and other negative substances and think about their life and careers.
The State president was accompanied by Ch Sham Lal, Ch Janak Raj, Ch Dev Raj, Ch Surjeet, Ch Girdhari Lal, Ch Surat Singh, Ch Parveen and Youth president Samba, Ch Satish.
