JAMMU, Aug 13: Situation in five sensitive districts of Jammu region remained peaceful today as authorities relaxed restrictions during the day. However, restrictions will continue during the night.
Restriction were relaxed in Kishtwar throughout the day today, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma said, adding that restrictions in Doda, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch districts were relaxed for “sufficient time” to facilitate movement of the people.
Situation remained normal during the relaxation period, Verma said.
Sources said heavy rush of people was witnessed at the Deputy Commissioner Office in Kishtwar to avail services of Helpline numbers as telephone calling facilities remained affected in Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch districts while mobile Internet services stayed shut in the entire Jammu region since August 5 following abrogation of special Constitutional provisions of Jammu and Kashmir.

During relaxation of restrictions, security personnel remained deployed in strength in all five sensitive districts to ensure that peace is not disturbed.
