Govt employees hold protest rally

JAMMU, Mar 6: The Government employees held a strong protest rally in support of their demands at Exhibition Ground near Press Club and took out march towards Civil Secretariat, here today.
The employees under the banner of State Government Employees’ Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC), assembled at Exhibition Ground in the morning and staged massive demonstration.
Led by Sushil Sudan, Pardip Sharma, Subhash Verma, Suresh Sharma, Purshotam Singh Chib, Aijaz Khan, Darshan Mangotra, Yash Pal Sharma, Maheshwar Sharma, Prem Singh Bawa, Swaran Singh, Kapil Bakshi, Suman Sharma, Yash Sharma, Mohd Farooq, Bishan Verma, Vinod Sharma, K.C.DUBEY, Jarnail khokha, Ashok Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Rinku Gill, Krishan Chand, Vijay Kumar and Bashir Ahamed Mir, the demonstrators took out a protest rally from Press Club and headed towards Civil Secretariat but heavy contingent of police foiled their attempt to reach there.
The employees were raising slogans against the Government and in favour of their demands. They were demanding payment of balance arrears in cash, regularization of daily wagers, consolidated, contractual and adhoc employees, increase in the medical allowance to Rs 1000, removal of pay anomalies in all cadres, review of budgetary support to the PSUs, payment of arrears and timely salary, qualifying service at par with the Centre, removal of restrictions on withdrawal of GP Fund.
The leaders warned the State Government not to test the patience of the employees and redress the grievances without any delay. They made fervent appeal to the employees to remain united.
