US customs agency says experiencing processing systems outage at various airports

WASHINGTON, Aug 17: US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a statement said that it is experiencing a temporary outage with its processing systems at various airports.
“CBP is experiencing a temporary outage with its processing systems at various air ports of entry and is taking immediate action to address the technology disruption,” the agency said via Twitter on Friday.
CBP is processing international travelers using alternative methods until systems are back online, the agency said. The release also said CBP officers are working to process travelers as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest levels of security.
According to media reports, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport have been affected by the temporary outage, which has caused huge delays for passengers.
