Retired Officers Forum accuses Govt of dumping representations into dustbin

JAMMU, Aug 19: The Executive committee of Retired Officers Forum, Jammu, during the course of working committee meeting, held under the chairmanship of I D Soni, president of the Forum, highlighted the unresolved issues already taken up by the deputation led by S C Rekhi, General Secy with Advisor, K K Shrama.
The Forum regretted that inspite of lapse of about six months period, no response has been received from the Govt which claims that thousands of complaints/memorandums were received and thousands stand disposed of and only few remain to be cleared. The fact is, nothing seems to have been resolved but instead most of these complaints/memorandums seem to have been dumped in the dust bins of the Civil Secretariat, said the Forum and added that inspite of assurance given by the Advisor, no headway has been made for the issues raised personally and delivered in writing.
The issues and demands, which were brought to the notice of the Government, included; release of arrears of 7th Pay Commission of pensioners in one go irrespective of age group, allowing the respective treasuries to finalise the fixation, enhancement of Medical Allowance etc.
Stressing that Health Insurance Medi-claim Policy for the pensioners needs to be revived, the Forum alleged that the respective Governments for the last 13 years were befooling employees/retirees sometimes by advertising/asking for options, floating tenders also but not finalizing the same.
