JAMMU, Aug 21: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding construction of ring road and start of metro train services from Amphalla-Manda to Janipur High Court-Akhnoor.
The protest was led by JWAM leader Sunil Dimple who also demanded construction of flyovers at Rehari Chungi to solve the traffic problem.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple said that the Governor, S.P Malik and his Advisor K.K Sharma should take initiatives towards their demands.
He further said that the protest will continue till the demands are not conceded and alleged that widening of Ambphalla-Janipur High Court road up to Bantalab from both the sides will affect the livelihood of many people having shops and other business outlets there.
JWAM leader also said that the Government has no traffic mobility plan for Jammu city to solve the traffic problems due to which accident graph is rising every day.
Prominent among those present in the protest were Rajinder Bhargav, Ravinder Sharma, S. Tarlok Singh, S. Gurdayal Singh, Ashwani Nayar, B.L Raina, Neeraj Kumar, Sita Ram Rakwal, Manjiet Singh, Sonu Sharma, Bablu Singh, Ramesh Mahajan and others.
