Concern over lack of arrangements for Shivratri

JAMMU, Mar 7: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee has appealed the authorities to ensure fresh water supply , regular power supply and ensure ration to all migrant employees as well as relief holders on eve of Mahashivrari.
The Committee which met here today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Pandita also made an appeal to CAPD Minister to provide ration to newly issued ration card holders who have been deprived of the same for last five months. It also demanded home delivery of gas be ensured on the eve of festival.
The meeting also appealed the JMC, Health Department and CAPD to maintain check on prices of vegetables, cheese and other commodities.
Meanwhile, Apex Committee member and LJP youth national president Sanjay Saraf has urged the Government to ensure the supply of all the essential commodities in the camps and migrant bastis on the eve of Maha Shivratri. Mr Saraf criticized the CAPD Department for not ensuring the ration at CAPD Depots on the eve of Mahashivratri and termed it the total callousness of the department and Government towards the community.
Meanwhile, PDP leader Abdul Rahim Rather and Nana Ji Wattal have also demanded that essential commodities be ensured on the eve of Shivratri. They also criticized the Government for not ensuing supply of ration on CAPD depots.
NC leader B L Bhat, Displaced Employees Forum president M K Tickoo and Displaced United Council convener Ashok Kaul have expressed concern over non release of salaries of migrant employees of PHE and withholding of salaries of employees putting up in camps for non production of power tariff bills.
In a joint statement they demanded that salaries for this month be released in favour of these employees in view of Mahashivrari festival.
