UDHAMPUR, Aug 24: A young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in laws at village Pathi Panghara Udhampur.
According to the police report, Makhna Devi (26), wife of Sanjay Kumar of Pathi Panghara, Udhampur District, consumed some poisonous substance last night. The family members noticed her in serious condition and rushed her to District Hospital Udhampur.
In view of her serious condition, she was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. Her condition was still critical till last reports came in.
Cause of provocation behind the suicide attempt could not be ascertained as the victim was not in a condition for giving statement to the Police. However, Udhampur Police has registered the case for further investigation.
