JAMMU, Aug 26: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to visit Ladakh on August 29.
This will be his first visit to the State following withdrawal of special Constitutional provisions of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcation of the State into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
Rajnath will interact with locals regarding the recent bifurcation move, which has been widely welcomed in Leh.
He will also review security situation along Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China and Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan in Ladakh.
The 14 Corps in Leh manages both the borders with Pakistan along the Kargil-Drass Siachen sector while on the other side it manages the Eastern Ladakh boundary with China.
