JAMMU, Aug 27: The driver of a car was killed today when it met with a mishap in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a man identified as Gurmeet Singh (45) son of Harjeet Singh, resident of Kalibari (Kathua), who was driving his Swift Dzire car from Nagrota to Jammu, received critical injuries when he lost control over his speeding vehicle near Toll Post Nagrota and it rolled down the road.
He said that the seriously injured car driver was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota,” the official added.
