JAMMU, Aug 28: Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered intoxicants including capsules, tablets, banned syrup bottles and heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint police team of District Special Branch and Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Naresh Sharma laid a naka near Lower Roop Nagar and intercepted three pedestrians, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 3093 intoxicant capsules, 410 tablets and 15 banned syrup bottles from the possession of the pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Purshotam Lal of Paloura, Rakesh Kumar of Narwal and Hazrat Ali of Gujjar Mohallah Janipur.
A case under FIR Number 109/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia while on checking at Marakhari intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CH-6527.
During checking, police team recovered 5.2 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Abhishek Khokhar, son of Sunil Khokhar of Ward Number 13, Rajeev Basti, Reshamghar Colony, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 93/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation initiated.
