Finally , Government made its mind and banned tobacco products like Gutka. Civil Society members and some NGOs had been demanding ban on it for a long time now. They had been doing this to save people from its ill effects on health.
It is reported that Gutka products are responsible for causing mouth and throat cancer. Numerous people have become its victims.Since its use mostly among labourers, they could not later on bear the medical expenses arising out of its use. As a result, it incurred great loss to health sector.
The ban has been announced. Now comes its implementation. It is upto the concerned authorities how will they keep people away from it. A welcome move.
