The works are being constructed under the supervision of PHE Department at an estimated cost of Rs 18.5 lakh and the funds were sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former MLA which was sanctioned during his tenure as MLA and its work was delayed due to Code of Conduct of elections and other reasons, but the work was taken up after the Code of Conduct was over.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that during his tenure as MLA more than 10,000 water connections were provided to the inhabitants of Jammu West which included changing of decades old water pipes with new ones and that particular project was sanctioned only for Jammu West which was executed under the supervision of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA). He stated that areas which were not covered under that scheme are now kept on priority and wherever necessary, fresh water pipes are now being laid with the help of the concerned Department so that fresh water and regular water supply could be provided to masses in this season when consumption level of water is high.
Sanjay Baru said that it was a long pending demand of the residents of these areas and with the efforts of former MLA Jammu West, the works are now being taken up by PHE Department so that clean and fresh water could be provided to the people without any disruption. He also stated that in coming days, more developmental works will be taken up in the Ward which is recommended by former MLA and these works include many big works as well which will solve the overall problems in the ward.
