UDHAMPUR, Sept 1: An 18-year old pedestrian was knocked to death by an unidentified vehicle near Karlah Temple, under the jurisdiction of Kud Police Station, here today.
The deceased was identified as Pradeep Kumar (18) son of Subhash Chander, resident of Karlah Kud . He was walking on the road side near Karlah Temple Kud when an unidentified vehicle hit him.
Locals and police shifted the victim to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors referred him to District Hospital Udhampur. However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Udhampur hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Kud Police has registered the case in this connection and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, dead body of one of the two minor girls, who had drowned in Birma Nallah on August 29, was recovered.
The dead body of five-year old Jyoti Devi, who along with her younger sister Preeti Devi had drowned in the Nallah while talking bath, was fished out this morning after four days of the tragic incident. Efforts were still on to locate dead body of other girl.
Both the sisters, daughters of Ram Dass, resident of Punjab, presently putting up near Birma Bridge were taking bath in the nallah along with some other children when flash flood washed them away on August 29 around 3.45 pm.
