Hardcore criminal detained under PSA by Samba police

SAMBA, Sept 2: In order to curtail the activities of hardcore criminal namely Mohammad Yousaf, S/o Lal Hussain of Manohar Gopala, Samba who is involved in number of criminal activities and is a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of district Samba, a special team of Police Station, Samba under the supervision of Dy. SP Headquarters Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj headed by SHO, Inspector, Shiv Dev Singh was constituted for his arrest.
Police said the accused is a habitual criminal and his activities are prejudicial to the maintenance of law & order. His motive is not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded persons to join it. His criminal activities were posing a great threat to the public peace and tranquility, police added.
The accused is involved in a number of heinous cases registered against him at P/S Samba. He was involved in FIR No. 71/2011 U/S 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act, FIR No. 213/2013 U/S 452/342/382/323/34 RPC,FIR No. 148/2014 U/S 341/323 RPC, FIR No. 50/2015 U/S 307/147/148/149 RPC,FIR No. 05/2018 U/S 353/427/307/332/336/149/148/147 RPC and FIR No. 173/2018 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act. All these FIRs were registered at PS Samba. In addition to it he is involved in FIR No. 187/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of P/S Rajbagh, Kathua.
Police said keeping in view his repeated involvement in criminal activities, a dossier was prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba and forwarded to District Magistrate, Samba who formally issued the order of his detention under the PSA. The detention warrant was executed by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Samba today and the accused has been lodged in Sub Jail Hiranagar.
