PHQ sanctions welfare loan, relief for 325 police personnel

SRINAGAR, Sept 3: In order to provide succour to the police personnel who are in need of monetary assistance, Police Headquarters has sanctioned welfare relief of over Rs 3.20 crore for 325 police personnel.
The amount sanctioned include welfare loan for 319 personnel and welfare relief for 12 personnel to meet the expenses of different exigencies.
As per the order issued, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare loan of rupees three crore nineteen lakh and thirty thousand in favour of 319 personnel as per different entitlements. Rs 2 lakh has been sanctioned for five personnel for their own treatment or the treatment of their dependents.
Similarly Rs 1 lakh each has been granted to 293 personnel to meet different needs including self marriage and marriage of their dependents. The loan sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund is recoverable in installments.
DGP has also sanctioned welfare relief for 12 police personnel in order to provide them assistance in the treatment of different diseases they are suffering. The benefited personnel belong to different wings of the department.
PHQ has been continuously addressing the hardships and sufferings of its personnel. During the year 2019 over Rs 14.07 crore were sanctioned as welfare loan and relief benefiting 1461 personnel for their requirements of urgent nature.
