Punjab based illegal sex determination racket busted

SAMBA, Sept 4: Samba police has busted a Punjab based racket for conducting illegal sex determination tests operating in a rented house at Nonath, Ghagwal in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding activities in the Nonath area for conducting of illegal sex determination tests, a police party of P/S Ghagwal conducted raid at Nonath in the house rented by Ranjeet Singh, S/o Salkhan Singh of Gurdaspur and arrested him on the spot along with his two associates namely Rajinder Kour, W/o Tarsem Singh and Paramjeet Kour, W/o Gurnam Singh both of Cheema Gudi, tehsil Batala district Gurdaspur and recovered Ultrasound machine and other related equipments used for conducting illegal sex determination tests. Three sharp edged weapons were also recovered on the spot from the car of accused person Ranjeet Singh bearing Registration No. PB08BB-8110.
In this connection, a case FIR No.79/2019 U/S 6/23/24/25 Pre Conception and Pre Natal Sex Selection Determination Prohibited and Regulation Act 2002 and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and further investigation is going on.
