JAMMU, Sept 7: A seminar cum literary programme was organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad J&K Unit at K L Sehgal Hall here, today.
The theme of seminar was Maa Aur Matarubhumi (Mother and Motherland) which was held in first session while second session was multilingual poetry recitation.
Arvind Shah , National Executive Committee member of Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Parishad and incharge J&K while welcoming the guests said that Parishad is one of the oldest literary organizations working with commitment in the areas of Indian literature and languages. It conducts seminars, conferences, workshops and other activities pertaining to language , literature and social influence between language, literature and populations, he added.
Shah said the Parishad also undertakes tour programmes to understand cultural ethos and the literary richness of the people at grass roots level and it has units in all States of the country.
The first session was presided over by Prof. P N Trisal while Dr Balram Saini was the chief guest. The papers were read by Er. Vinod Kumar, Dr Krishan Lal and Kusam Dhar.
Every speaker drew a close relationship in the sentiments which are strikingly similar, both in a mother and in motherland. They said mother is warm lap where an individual finds life and solace of life. Similarly motherland is a big lap where one finds existential definitions of identity and belonging.
The first Session was conducted by veteran Broadcaster, B N Betab and Arvind Shah who in their remarks defined mother as a miniature representation of the motherland.
The second session comprised of a multilingual poetry recitation programme. The poetry session was presided over by Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat ex MLA, Aseer Kishtwari and P N Shad both veteran poets.
The poets read poems in Hindi, Dogri, Kashmir and Punjabi. All the poems read in the programme were lucid and kept the audience spell bound. The audience got thrilled to listen the poems on national valour and heroism. Similarly the poems based on motherhood generated lot of emotions in the audience. Some poets drew a close relationship between mother and motherland and poems on the social aspects of life. The programme was conducted by Satish Koul Safeer and Kewal Kumar Kewal.
The poets who participated in the programme included Bal Krishan Sanyasi, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Yashpaul Nirmal, B N Betab, Raj Rahi, Sunita Bhadwal, Sham Talib, Shyam Bihari, Balram Saini, Tej Sagar, Rajinder Agosh, Santosh Shah Nadan, Kundan Paras, Pran Pandita, Bidia Raina Tickoo, Rattan Bhardwaj, Dr Sushma Raina, A K Zadu, A K Naz, Dildar Mohan, Ashok Dilbar, Satish Safeer, Prof Virender Rawal, Randhir Singh Raipuria and others. The function was also attended by Aryan Ramesh a social activist and Rohit Bhat.
