POONCH, Sept 8: Even as the basic facilities including road, power and water remained the `loud- cry’ for the successive regimes so far during their election campaigns, the village Murrah and adjoining hamlets in Surankote area of Poonch district still lack the basic facilities, thus forcing the villagers to face hardships.
Murrah village of Tehsil Surankote is located on the left side of Nallah, Dui Chang. It comprises of villages like – Murrah, Doofali, Gujjar and Bakerwal Basti with almost hundred households residing in these hamlets.
A local, Khadam Hussein said that the successive regimes for the past several decades have failed to ensure proper roads and other facilities to them, adding that “Murrah hamlet sans everything including bridge and proper road connectivity.”
Due to non- availability of proper road connectivity, people are suffering a lot, he said, adding that they demand a motorable bridge at Murrah over Nallah between Hill Kaka.
Meanwhile, the locals appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and ensure proper road in their hamlet.
