DODA, Sept 8: In total number of 51 Government Higher Secondary Schools in Doda District, there are 640 posts of Lecturers but only 230 of them are presently in position and 410 posts are lying vacant.
“While less than 36 percent lecturers are in position today in Doda, 12 Higher Secondary Schools don’t have even single lecturer to take classes,” said Vishal Manhas, ABVP District Doda convenor, while addressing a press conference.
He further said that it was not in just HSS and there was similar shortage of Masters/Teachers in the High Schools, Middle Schools and Primary schools in the district.
Seeking an explanation from the Department of School Education for the sorry state of affairs in the Doda schools, the ABVP leaders accused the authorities of playing with the future of the students of these Higher Secondary schools, particularly those 12 where not even a single lecturer is posted.
These 12 Hr Sec Schools, which do not have even single lecturer, include HSS Guraka, HSS Chanti, HSS Jodhpur, HSS Trown, HSS Tanta, HSS Chill, HSS Behota, HSS Dradhu, HSS Gurmal, HSS Nandna, HSS Koti and 12 HSS Shadiwan.
The ABVP leader requested Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter and issue necessary instructions for posting of Lecturers/Masters/Teachers in the Doda schools.
Others who were present in the press conference, include Anoop Sharma and Ashwinder Chib, ABVP GDC Doda President and ABVP Doda City Office Secretary, respectively.
