JAMMU, Sep 10: A lineman of Power Development Department died this evening due to electrocution in Lower Roop Nagar area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Chinore.
“The deceased was identified as Vijay Singh (47) son of Rattan Singh, resident of RS Pura,” a police official said, adding, his body was shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital for postmortem to be conducted tomorrow.
He said that the deceased received severe electric shock from an LT line in Lower Roop Nagar area and fell unconscious after which he was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Chinore police had taken cognizance of the matter.
