JAMMU, Mar 9: Passport Mela organized here today by Passport Office, Jammu, received overwhelming response from the passport aspirants.
The mela, which was organised especially to facilitate submission of old applications for Haj, witnessed heavy rush, as there could be seen long queues of Passport aspirants for submitting their necessary documents.
A considerable number of old files which were pending for deficiencies, which the applicants were supposed to complete, stood cleared, said Passport officer.
It was the maiden Passport Mela organized by the Passport Office at Jammu to facilitate submission of old applications for Haj.
During the mela, the applicants intending to proceed on Haj pilgrimage, were facilitated by granting ‘Walk-in’ in their favour.
We got a huge response from the passport aspirants in the mela, so we are thinking of organizing such Passport Melas on various other occasions, about which wide publicity through print media shall be given well in time, the passport officer said.
