HBCA demands inclusion of Bhoti language in 8th schedule of Constitution

LEH, Sept 12: Expressing their sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fulfilling long standing UT demand of Ladakhis, Himalayan Buddhist Culture Association (HBCA) has now demanded inclusion of Bhoti language in the eighth schedule of Indian Constitution.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club Leh today, HBCA President Tashi Targais, flanked by Vice President Tsering Norbo, Director Tsering Phuntsog and other executive members, urged the Prime Minister to make Bhoti as official language of newly created UT of Ladakh besides its inclusion in 8th schedule of Indian Constitution.
Demanding to open Kailash Mansarovar road from Ladakh, Targais said that pilgrimage to Mount Kailash can go via Ladakh in one day whereas other routes to Mount Kailash takes three to four days. He also demanded to include Ladakh in the 6th schedule area to safeguard its identity.
Maintaining that HBCA members had been struggling for UT status to Ladakh and Bhoti language recognition through number of representation and peace walk all over the nation, Targais urged people of Ladakh not to forget the contribution of those who struggled for UT demand.
