JAMMU, Sept 15: An ASI of CRPF died today under mysterious circumstances in his battalion at Channi Rama, Jammu.
“ASI SK Dass of 144 CRPF Channi Rama was found lying unconscious on his bed in his barrack at about 2:15 AM today when he did not come to his duty which was scheduled at 2 AM,” a police official said.
He said the officer was taken to CRPF Hospital, where he was declared as brought dead. “Later, the body of the deceased was sent to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and handed over to CRPF authorities after postmortem,” he added.
The official said that inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection by Narwal police.
