JAMMU, Sept 16: Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan, today listened to people’s grievances at weekly public hearing programme at Convention Centre where he met scores of public delegations and individuals who apprised him of their issues and demands.
As many as, 74 public delegations and individuals hailing from different areas of Jammu region apprised the Advisor of their grievances and sought his intervention in ensuring redressal of the same at the earliest.
The Advisor issued on-the-spot directions in some of the cases to the concerned departments to look into the grievances and resolve them in a time bound manner.
A delegation of Sarpanchs from far flung areas of Udhampur led by Dev Raj and Kasturi Lal Gupta projected the demand for establishment of Degree College at Lathi , creation of staff at High School at Parla Dudu and filling up of vacant posts in Horticulture department at Lathi.
Member, J&K State Human Rights Commission, Chander Mohan Sharma apprised the Advisor about various issues of public importance.
Former MLC Master Noor Hussain apprised the Advisor of the need of Urdu Lecturer in Pumandal area.
A delegation of employees of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department raised the issue for revocation of SRO 202.
Principal, Deaf and Dumb School, Shaheedi Chownk, Roshan Bhan projected the issue related to employment of a former student of the said school. The Advisor assured his full support in this matter.
A deputation of Academic Arrangement Lecturers of Government Polytechnic Colleges led by Gagan Pratsap Singh projected the demand of their regularization and release of their pending arrears.
Civil Services Aspirants led by Kanwal Singh submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to reservation of youth of Jammu and Kashmir in jobs and higher education.
A delegation of Fruit Mandi Association apprised the Advisor of issues concerning their welfare and development.
A deputation of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing Department put forth promotion issue of all cadres and re-organization of the department.
A delegation led by J S Chauhan put forth the issue related to Diploma in Elementary Education. A delegation of Kashyap Rajput Biradari, Talab Khatikan raised issues of their concern.
The residents of Katra raised developmental issues of their area seeking an early redressal to the same.
A deputation of RMSA Subject Specific Teachers put forth the issue of their continuation.
Residents of Purmandal demanded the establishment of Degree College in their area.
Deputations of Adhoc Lecturers of Polytechnic Colleges, 10 Plus 2 Contractual Lecturers Forum, Retired Gazetted Officers (In-charge Cadre) and Technical Education Employees projected demands related to their regularization.
Several other delegations and individuals also met the Advisor and registered their issues and demands pertaining to School Education, Technical Education, Haj & Auqaf, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Culture, Agriculture/Horticulture and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj besides other developmental issues.
Advisor Khan assured the people who turned up at the camp that all their genuine concerns would be examined for redressal.
On being apprised with various Education department related issues, the Advisor said that an Education Adalat will soon be held to take up these important matters.
