University of Jammu signs MoU with NKUHT Taiwan

JAMMU, Sept 16: University of Jammu (JU) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT), Taiwan which will help redefining hospitality education in University of Jammu.
On behalf of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, the MoU was signed by Dr Pearl Lin, who is the president of NKUHT while Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor signed the same on behalf of University of Jammu in presence of Deans, Directors and Head of Departments of the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Manoj Dhar said that in less than six months University has entered into a strategic partnership with University of California, Berkley, USA and University of South Florida, Tampa, USA for bringing best global practices, curriculum development and faculty training in the University of Jammu.
“University of Jammu provides a truly unparalleled standard of education to their students, and is striving to take students/scholars to new heights of education, knowledge and professional opportunities,” said Prof Dhar. He further said that JU is following a process and mechanism to ensure that these MoU’s do not remain just a ritual but play an important role in enhancing the image of University of Jammu in terms of research, teaching and Innovation.
He said that these MoUs will help in global outreach of the University and build an International face. It is a matter of great honour and pride that the only institution with whom NKUHT has signed a MoU is University of Jammu, Prof Dhar added.
Prof Lin said that in addition to the training of culinary, hospitality service and tourism techniques, the NKUHT emphasizes its degree programs integration with internships, skill competition championships as well as prestige chef demonstrations. It is also the only school in Taiwan that collaborates with Le Cordon Bleu London. She informed that NKUHT has collaborations with Institutions in 132 Countries and with today’s MoU, 133 Country has been added.
Among others Dr Richard WU, NKUHT, Prof Rajni Dhingra, Dean Research Studies, Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar and Prof Kulwant Singh, Controller of Examinations, were present on the occasion.
