JAMMU, Sept 16: Various delegations of teaching cadre today called on Farooq Khan, Advisor to the Governor and Incharge of School Education Department for seeking redressal of their issues.
A delegation of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, led by State President, Deepak Sharma submitted a memorandum demanding sanction of Time Bound Promotion/ACP in favour of Plus 2 Lecturers.
Deepak Sharma briefed the Advisor that the Plus-2 Lecturers appointed in the scale of Level-9 (52700-166700) (pre-revised grade pay 5400) have to face a worst type of stagnation in the absence of Running Grade/Time Bound Promotion and have to serve for about 20 long years to get first promotion as Principal at Level 10A/Grade Pay 5600 with meager enhancement of just Rs 200 ( from Rs 5400 to 5600 GP) whereas their counterparts working in the same scale in other departments of J&K Government are entitled for three Time Bound Promotions within the same time span of 20 years and are placed in Level -13 (GP 8700)
Farooq Khan gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that the Government will consider their genuine issue/demand of TBP/ACP and soon come out with a positive result to remove stagnation in their careers.
A 15 – member delegation, led by Mrignayani Slathia, State President All Teachers Association J&K (ATAJK) also called on Farooq Khan and submitted a memorandum to apprise him about the problems being faced by the teaching community.
Mrignayani demanded that the HRA in the rural and urban areas be made equal so that no discrimination is meted out to those teachers serving in the rural areas. The delegation also demanded DPC, regularization of Incharge officers, regular salary to SSA teachers and urged that those Masters promoted in 2014 and not adjusted till date, may be adjusted with immediate effect.
A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA), led by its president Hari Singh also called on Farooq Khan and demanded release of salary of Masters posted as Head Teachers, conversion of all left out RReTs into Teachers Grade II, regularization of Incharge Lecturers and others, filling up all vacant posts of Headmasters, ZEOs and Principals, etc.
