JAMMU, Sept 16: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started construction work of a toilet complex at Sohanjana in the presence of Maharaj Gangu Shastri.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that it was a long pending demand of the Trust manning this place as thousands of devotees of Dwarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj gather on this holy place to pay obeisance and seek blessings. He said that though the Trust used to erect temporary toilets but still the large gathering was forced to go out to urinate and defecate.
He said that the toilet complex would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh which was sanctioned out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Randhawa said that the construction of this toilet complex would be done under the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ to make the nation Open Defecation Free (ODF).
Randhawa said that the Government is spending crores of rupees to generate mass awareness through the medium of advertisement regarding cleanliness and ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ which was launched with an aim to make India clean.
Randhawa took this opportunity to request Maharaj Gangu Shastri Ji to carry forward the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Prime Minister of India to the masses as a word from Maharaj would be an order for his disciples and it would be a great help to the Government as well as to the mankind.
Randhawa further directed the JE, Bharat Bhushan (RDD) who was also present on the occasion along with his team to complete the construction within shortest possible time with quality work.
Others who were present on the occasion include Vidya Sagar Sharma, GL Sharma, Madan Mohan Sharma, Jaggu Sharma, Mohan Sharma and Gani Ram Sharma.
