LEH, Sept 18: Martselang constituency of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh is all set to go for bi-election tomorrow to elect its Councilor.
In this regard, polling parties for all the 10 polling stations of the constituency along with security forces have been dispatched today from the District Election Office, Leh.
The Deputy District Election Officer, AG Zargar said that 40 polling personnel with adequate security men have been deployed for 10 polling stations of Martselang constituency. He said that 4,293 voters of 8 villages of this constituency that included Stok, Matho, Stakna, Martselang, Changa, Chomoling, Shang and Chokdo will exercise their voting franchise tomorrow to elect their Councilor.
It is worth mentioning that bi-election in Martselang constituency will be held in a triangular contest between Stanzin Chosphel of BJP, Tashi Norboo of INC and Rinchen Gyurmet (Independent candidate). The counting of votes and declaration of results shall be held on September 23.
It is also to mention that the Councilor seat of Martselang constituency has been vacated by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in May this year on his election as Member Parliament of Ladakh.
