SRINAGAR, Sept 20: Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan today reviewed the preparedness in connection with the commemoration of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji here.
The 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev falls on November 12.
The Advisor asked the officers to ensure uninterrupted basic amenities at the places of worship for the convenience of devotees.
Advisor asked the officers to hold seminars, debates, contests, martial arts competition, sufi events, Gurbani recitation and other events with particular focus to depict the relevance of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s mission and teachings in today’s context.
He directed the officers to arrange an exhibition of about 200 paintings of Guru Nanak privately owned by a person in Jammu.
The Advisor also said that separate programmes should be kept for Gurbani recitation, Sufi events, Bakhti movement events among others in Jammu, Poonch, R S Pura, Mattan, Tral and Leh.
Commissioner Secretary School Education Sarita Chauhan, Secretary Higher Education Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary Culture Zubair Ahmad, Director Archives Munir-ul-Islam among other officers were present on the occasion.
